A. Create a research calendar/planner for the months of February, March & April; see notes from class. Do not fill in the calendar. Leave it blank. We will work on it in class.
B. Optional: Create your own Google Docs account. If you're under 13 please have your parent register you for access as per federal COPPA guidelines.
C. Use Microsoft Publisher or Google Docs -- it's free! -- to create the calendar. (If you don't have Microsoft software on your computer, use Google Docs -- a planner works too -- or make one by hand!)
D. Choose a topic that you love, for example sports, fashion, video games, etc. Type a paragraph (5-7 sentences in length) in which you explain why you've chosen the topic. Be sure to include a topic sentence, several supporting details, and a closing sentence.

Ask for assistance from the Help Desk or the on-staff librarian. For example, "Hello. I'm doing a research project on the history of the Internet. Would you kindly direct me to any print sources that you may have on the subject?" To locate the library nearest to you, type the following URL into the address bar of your browser: http://nypl.org. Look under the locations tab on the home page for your branch. The URL is also located on the homepage of my Weebly for your convenience.
C. Once you have acquired the sources, type the titles into the comment box on my homepage:
